Writing Center Frequently Asked Questions
1. For whom is the writing center available?
The writing center is available to all students and faculty of TAMUT.
2. Who will read my paper?
Members of our writing consultant team read the submitted papers.
3. Where do I send my paper?
Go to Tamut.edu. Find and click on the student support tab. Next, find and click on the Writing Center tab. Finally, find and click on the appointment tab and fill out the submit a paper form.
4. How long will the process take?
A writing consultant will usually contact you within 24-48 hours to confirm your appointment.
5. Can I request a particular tutor?
Yes. You can request a particular tutor.
6. What if I just have a quick question?
If you have a quick question, please feel free to send an email to email@example.com . Please include a description of your question and type “online writing lab/a quick question” in the subject box.
7. I need assistance immediately. What should I do?
If you need assistance immediately, please follow the steps suggested above, meet with one of our writing consultants at our university location, or set up an appointment through our online appointment request form.
8. I am confident in my paper. I really just need someone to proofread it. Can you help?
Our writing consultants do not proofread. We encourage writers to be self-critical about their writing. As such, our tutors do not perform the function of editing. We can, however, assist writers in the development of these skills through our resources on location, our online resources, and our online tutorials.
