History

The History program at Texas A&M University-Texarkana offers students the opportunity to study a variety of periods of history in order to gain specific knowledge of the topics in questions, but also to develop skills in analysis, communication, and problem-solving. 

The Bachelors degree program is designed to prepare students for a a lifelong of learning as well as a wide variety of life paths, including post-graduate studies, teacher certification programs, professional schools, public service, and innumerable positions in the private sector. 

The Master of Science in History is a thirty-six (36 SCH) semester credit hour degree that is intended for students who are interested in developing a deeper understanding and appreciation for History.  It is especially valuable for those planning to study for a Ph.D., those wishing to teach at the university or community college level, and secondary teachers wanting to increase their historical knowledge and ability to teach dual-credit and Advanced Placement courses.
