We will go over various communication methods, and then we will cover the more advanced tools. This session is offered both via a face-to-face classroom session or online via webinar. Plan and Publish
This two-hour webinar will present the desktop applications that individuals use to create whiteboards as well as package and automate the delivery of their sessions and produce multimedia presentations from the recordings. This session is offered both via a face-to-face classroom session or online via webinar.
Introduction to Blackboard Learn 9.1
This one-hour workshop will introduce you to the navigational features and outline the wide range of tools available to faculty and students in Blackboard 9.1. All faculty members new to Blackboard 9.1 should attend this course. You will get a brief overview of the course menu and control panel and learn the basics for adding, deleting, and hiding menu tools and customizing the appearance of your course.
Blackboard Learn 9.1 Content Management
This one-hour workshop will provide instruction on incorporating content into Blackboard, including plain text, HTML, Microsoft Word text and documents, PDFs, video, audio, and more. You will learn how to add basic content to your course, such as PowerPoint presentations, documents, and a syllabus. Also, you will learn how to embed video files from YouTube without ever seeing HTML code. Additionally, you will get tips on organization and timed release of content.
Blackboard Learn 9.1 Assessments
This one-hour workshop will demonstrate how to use assessment tools such as assignments, tests, and quizzes in Blackboard. You will also be introduced to Respondus, a third-party software application that simplifies test creation and promotes academic integrity during online testing, and SafeAssign, a plagiarism prevention tool available to you.
Blackboard 9.1 Grade Center
In this one-hour workshop you will learn how to set up and use Blackboard Grade Center. Topics include how to enter/delete grades and comments, clear attempts, exempt grades, add extra credit grades, change display options, set up Total/Weighted Total columns, customize the letter grade schema, work with column organization, and download/upload the Grade Center. This session will be more helpful if you have prior experience with Blackboard or have taken other Blackboard workshops such as the introduction and assessment sessions.
Blackboard Refresher Course
Come for a two hour hands-on refresher course covering the tools you’ve forgotten how to use. Based on participant interest we will cover topics such as discussion boards, groups, journals, blogs, wikis, e-portfolios. media integration, NBC Learn, Atomic Learning, Collaborate Web Conferencing, the Library integration tool, assessments, Turnitin integration, Respondus, partner content integration (Pearson, Cengage, McGraw Hill, etc.), course customization, and grade center functionality. Plan to bring a list of your course and unit objectives and a USB drive with (or links to) your instructional content you need assistance incorporating into Blackboard.
