Transfer/Non-Traditional Students

Welcome to Texas A&M University-Texarkana!

Student Orientation Advising and Registration for Transfer/Non-Traditional Students is designed to assist you as you transfer to A&M-Texarkana!
SOAR TNT is designed to serve two groups

  • Freshmen students with 29 Credits and below who are over the age of 21, married, or have dependent children.
  • Transfer students with 30 Credits and above.

We know you’ve been to college before; we just want to help you be successful at A&M-Texarkana. While at SOAR you will:

  • Meet other new students
  • Get advice from current A&M-Texarkana students
  • Meet with your academic advisor
  • Register for classes
  • Learn A&M-Texarkana traditions
  • Learn about A&M-Texarkana resources and departments

Our Orientation process is designed ot meet your unique scheduling/support needs so we offer an online orientation followed by an in-person advising and registration session.

After you complete orientation, you will be invited to attend the Advising and Registration Portion of SOAR.  These sessions will be come and go so once you register for classes, you will be allowed to leave and take care of other University business (students ID's, financial aid, tours, etc).   The organized Advising and Registration dates are listed below: 

College of Education and Liberal Arts:

  • June 3, 2014 (3pm-6pm in the University Center Library)
  • July 1, 2014 (3pm-6pm in the University Center Library)

College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics:

  • June 10, 2014 (3pm-6pm in the University Center Library)
  • July 8, 2014 (3pm-6pm in the University Center Library)

College of Business:

  • June 10, 2014 (3pm-6pm in the University Center Library)
  • July 8, 2014 (3pm-6pm in the University Center Library)
