What do I need to do to be able to select a room?
If you are not a current resident but you are an enrolled student then turn in a housing form for living on campus by April 10th to the Residence Life Office and a Room Selection Form will be given to you. Show up to Eagle Hall at the specified times above and we will get you setup to pick a room! Any current Texas A&M University - Texarkana student desiring to live on campus for the 2015-2016 academic year has the opportunity to participate in the Room Selection process. Room Selection gives students the option of choosing their living space for the 2015-2016 academic year. If you are a current resident, a Room Lottery form will be given to you at your floor meetings two weeks prior.
You have two options! You can attend a roommate social and get to meet other students that don't have a roommate.
We can find you one! If you cannot find someone, we will match you up with a roommate as best as we possibly can!
Wanting to stay in your current room is called "squatting." You cannot buy out a room and it must be filled out to capacity. We are asking all “Squatters” and “Joiners” to stop by Nichole’s Office starting April 23rd 12:00PM-1:30PM to squat the room. It should only take a few seconds. Failure to do this will result in your room being reassigned to someone else.
“Movers” enter a room lottery process. All current students who have turned in housing applications will be given a lottery number. Lottery numbers are assigned on a first come first serve basis. As you enter in the BLV Kitchen WITH your form you will be able to pick your room. Numbers will be called in order to pick your room. All “Movers” should attend the Housing Lottery. Students who have class or other conflicts with the Lottery times listed below may send a proxy to act on their behalf. As their numbers come up during the Lottery, the student will be able to choose any available room to occupy for the upcoming academic year. They will also be able to “pull in” a roommate to live with them. Students who do not sign up for a room during the lottery process or gain approval to move off campus and are required to live on campus will be charged for a room and board plan during the upcoming year.
