Developmental Education

Students attending Texas public institutions of higher education must be in compliance with the Texas Success Initiative (TSI).  Entering college students are assessed for college readiness in reading, mathematics, and writing unless they qualify for an exemption.  Each student who does not meet the minimum passing standards of the exam must be placed in a developmental education program designed to help the student achieve college readiness.

Academic Advisors assist students in attaining college readiness through intervention, career counseling, one-on-one success skills coaching, and by providing access to campus resources.
