I teach a varied number of courses in political science, with all having a broad theme of political behavior.

My teaching and research interests include not only behaviour generally, but also specific areas such as the politics of gender; political violence (civil war, terrorism, revolution); voting and electoral behavior; and institutional behaviors: IPE, EU politics, and state level actions in western and eastern Europe and southwest Asia.

Another area I find fascinationg is the intersection of politics and education; specifically devolved educational policy and the effects such has on education; and the place teaching politics has in the broader research arena. I also enjoy the intersections of politics and culture: literature, music, film, religion.
