Beginning College Survey of Student Engagement (BCSSE)

The BCSSE is completed by incoming university freshmen every August. These students are asked about their high school experiences, self-perceptions, and expectations for their first year of college. For example, the BCSSE collects students' perceptions of coursework, instructors, co-curricular programs, and many other aspects of academic life.

Collegiate Learning Assessment (CLA+)

The CLA+ is administered to incoming freshmen every Fall semester and to graduating seniors every Spring semester. The CLA+ assesses how well students utilize certain skills (analysis and problem solving, writing effectiveness, and writing mechanics) and how well they apply other skills (scientific and quantitative reasoning, critical reading and evaluation, and critiquing an argument).

Culture, Diversity, and Globalization Survey

The Culture, Diversity, and Globalization Survey is administered each fall semester to freshmen and each spring to seniors. Furthermore, international students and students who study abroad are invited to complete this survey in the fall semester and spring semester. In this survey, students are asked about their intercultural sensitivity, perceptions of diversity and globalization, preparedness to compete in a global world, and related concepts.

Graduating Student Survey (GSS)

The GSS is administered to seniors and graduate students who have applied for Fall, Spring, or Summer graduation. As of Summer 2016, the survey focuses on students' perceptions of their knowledge, skills, and abilities; community service-related attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors; immediate employment plans, salary information, and student debt information; and Alumni Association information.

National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE)

The NSSE is administered to first-year students and seniors each Spring semester. The NSSE asks students questions about their participation in educationally purposeful activities, institutional requirements, coursework, perceptions of college, and perceptions of personal and educational growth since starting college.

Satisfaction Surveys

The Faculty and Staff Satisfaction Survey and the Student Satisfaction Survey are administered each Spring semester to students, faculty, and staff. Administrative units and academic support units who participate in this survey use the feedback for assessment purposes and to inform training and development. All participants units can evaluate themselves on "common items" shared across units and on brief custom items voluntarily submitted by each unit.

Global Perspectives Inventory

The GPI is administered to freshmen each Fall semester, to seniors each Spring semester, and student who study abroad each Fall and Spring semester. The GPI measures global perspective-taking, and students are asked to provide responses on a series of cognitive, intrapersonal, and interpersonal perceptions.
