Student Advising

All students who have declared Computer Science as their major, including freshmen and transfer students, must see Computer Science faculty every semester before enrolling for next semester courses. A hold will be placed on CS students’ records that will be removed only after students have had an advising session with their respective CS faculty advisor.

Advising sessions are helpful to discuss curriculum, course load, as well as career options depending on the student progress in the CS degree. For transfer students, CS faculty advising is paramount to identify the appropriate courses in the CS degree in according to prerequisite constraints.

Academic advisors in UC can assist students with adjustment to college life, monitor student’s academic progress, and advise students for scholarship opportunities.
