Welcome to the Department of Nursing


Mission

The mission of the DON is to education safe, quality practitioners for a professional practice that is evidence based, compassionate, holistic, and affirms the intrinsic worth and value of each individual.

Graduates will be prepared as accountable and knowledgeable leaders and practitioners in the rapidly changing healthcare system, contributing to and strengthening nursing as a profession.

A&M-Texarkana offers undergraduate and graduate programs in nursing.

Baccalaureate in Nursing

BSN Traditional Track

The traditional track is a four-year, 120 SCH, bachelor of science in nursing degree. The student will complete 61 SCH of core and prerequisite courses in pre-nursing prior to entering the nursing program. The program is designed for beginning students and will culminate in a baccalaureate degree and eligibility to take the registered nurse licensure exam.

RN to BSN Track

The RN to BSN track is designed for the currently licensed registered nurse with an associate’s degree to achieve completion of the baccalaureate degree in nursing.

Masters of Science in Nursing

                   Administration Track

Designed to prepare nurses with a baccalaureate degree for employment in advanced leadership and administration, and culminates in a MSN degree.
