Freshmen

Texas A&M University-Texarkana’s freshman orientation experience is designed to provide a foundation for student success and is designed for freshmen to gain an understanding of life on our campus.


While on our campus for orientation, you will:

  • Meet your future classmates, staff, and faculty members
  • Learn about TAMUT's young, but rich history and traditions
  • Become familiar with the campus and its resources making you feel at home
  • Gain insightful tips and information that will prepare you for success
  • Receive professional academic advising
  • Register for your first classes as a TAMUT Eagle!


To begin the orientation process, please find the term in which you will begin classes:


Summer 2018:

  1. Complete Online Orientation
  2. Meet with an advisor and register for classes (completing the form at the end of online orientation will let an academic advisor know that you are ready to schedule an appointment)
  3. Stop by campus and get your parking pass (2nd Floor - Business Office) and your Student ID (1st Floor - Student Life) 

 Fall 2018:

  1. Complete Online Orientation (must be completed first)
  2. Email advising@tamut.edu to schedule an advising appointment
  3. Attend the New Student Conference on either August 20th or 22nd from 5:30-8:30pm in the University Center.
  4. Attend the required Hatch Camp events August 23-26
