Academic Advising and Student Success (Students)

We would like to extend a warm welcome to you and hope that you have a productive and rewarding experience at A&M-Texarkana. The Academic Advising & Student Success Center is here to support your academic and personal endeavors.

Our department supports the success of all students by providing services in the following areas:

  • Academic Advising – We advise first-year students and students with 30 SCH (semester credit hours) or less through developmental and intentional academic advising. 
  • Learning Support – We provide drop-in tutoring and supplemental instruction in the Success Center.
  • Student Success Series – We host special topic workshops related to academic skills and student engagement.
  • Testing Center – Students can complete placements needed for TSI and other national recognized tests.

Hours of Operation
The Academic Advising office is open weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except on official university holidays. Students can see an academic advisor on a *walk-in basis daily from 8a.m. until 5p.m.

*Walk-in concerns include:  withdrawing, dropping or adding a course, course approval forms, and personal issues affecting academic performance.

Students should always make an appointment to see an advisors for more complex academic advising matters.
