BAAS has transformed lives,
professions, families, and communities

BAAS is an applied Baccalaureate degree program, meaning it recognizes different ways of learning and the value of practical knowledge gained outside of college. If you have any of these forms of nontraditional/occupational education, you can benefit from the BAAS plan. • Work experience that involved higher-level, complex learning and skills • In-depth volunteer experience in which you gained collegiate-level skills and knowledge • Military service/coursework • Industry/Public Service Training Programs • Occupational/Technical Associate degrees transferred from technical schools or community college The BAAS program receives several forms of credit and even provides a mechanism for returning adult learners to convert their occupational knowledge into college credit - we call this Prior Learning Assessment. Learning from corporate training programs or simply on-the-job experience is eligible for assessment and can result in six to 24 college credit hours. Military coursework is also received into our program, unlike traditional degree plans. We also accept virtually all college credit, no matter the age, and associate degrees. The Associate of Applied Science (occupational degree) can be transferred easily into the BAAS degree plan. The bottom line is we value your unique origin of experience and occupational/technical skills.

Getting to Know BAAS

Are you thinking about returning to school full or part time while maintaining adult responsibilities such as employment or family? If so, you may be on the verge of becoming a nontraditional student and you’re certainly not alone. In fact, the National Center for Education Statistics has found that 73% of all undergraduates are nontraditional in some respect: read more.

Did you know, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, bachelor’s degree holders earn over 50% of the annual salary of someone with just a high school diploma? Non-traditional students have also risen to career heights like Secretary of Higher Education and University President: watch.

In this program you will have access to a variety of professors, all highly trained in their specific fields. BAAS faculty are skilled adult educators as well, and all have worked in the business or corporate sector; some are nationally recognized as experts in their respective areas of interest. The most important attribute of our faculty is that we care about students and work closely with you to understand your specific goals and interests; with that as a basis, we will create a plan of study that maximizes learning in areas that interest you, and minimizes cost and time. You can meet the faculty and learn more about them if you click on their curriculum vita below.
