1. Agenda
2. Meeting called to order at 1:37 PM by Dr. Racheotes.
3. Dr. Gandy moved, seconded by Dr. Beason to approve minutes from previous meeting March 11, 2009. Motion passed with corrections.
4. Dr. Beason moved, seconded by Dr. Brumm to approve Changes to Existing Undergraduate Program: College of Business Minor Options for Non-Business Majors (Finance) (Boger). Motion was made to delete FIN 494 Security and Analysis Portfolio Management from the minor option. Motion passed.
5. Dr. Brumm moved, seconded by Dr. Gandy to approve Changes to Existing Undergraduate Program: College of Business Minor Options for
Non-Business Majors (Marketing) (Boger). Motion was made to delete the following courses from the minor option: MKT 365 Salesmanship
and 6 sch from GBUS 430 Corporate Image, GBUS 468 Public Relations, MGT 395 Principles of Management or any Marketing elective and
replace it with the following: MKT 465 Sales Management, MKT 467 Consumer Behavior, MIS 305 Electronic Commerce. Motion passed.
6. Dr. Brumm moved, seconded by Dr. Beason to approve Changes to Existing Undergraduate Program: College of Business Minor Options for Non-Business
Majors (Management Information Systems) (Boger). Motion was made to delete the following courses from the minor option: BCIS 1310 Basic Programming, MIS 301 Microcomputer Applications in Business and 9 sch UD MIS Electives and add MIS 305 Electronic Commerce, MIS 308 Project Management, MIS 362 Systems Analysis & Design OR MIS 366 Fundamentals of Database Systems, MGT 321 Organizational Behavior, MGT 395 Principles of Management. Motion passed.
7. Dr. Brumm moved, seconded by Dr. Fowler to approve Changes to Existing Undergraduate Program: College of Business Minor Options for Non-Business Majors (Management) (Boger). Motion was to delete MKT 363 and 6 sch UD Electives from Management or GBUS and add MGT 366 Topics in Org. Leadership, GBUS 456 Social, Political, and Legal Environ., and MIS 308 Project Management. Motion passed.
Agenda Items 8 & 9 were discussed together:
8 & 9. Dr. Beason moved, seconded by Dr. Gandy to table Course Changes: GBUS 435/535 The Economy of Mexico and Course Changes: GBUS 430/530 The Culture of Mexico (Boger). Decision was made by the Committee to table both of these items together for the following reasons: 1) GBUS 435 & GBUS 430 syllabi need to be separated with both having stand alone learner objectives and a clear delineation of how each course differentiate the travel experience for credit. 2) Both syllabi need to differentiate between undergraduate and graduate requirements. Motion tabled.
10. Old Business: Tabled Item from February 11, 2009:
11. Dr. Brumm moved, seconded by Dr. Kincaid to approve Adding New Undergraduate Program: BBA Business Administration with Concentration in General Business (Boger). After this item was tabled, it was then decided to change the name of this program to BBA Business Administration. Motion passed.
12. Other Business:
1). Dr. Racheotes expressed his sincere appreciation and support that Anson Godfrey has given to the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee.
2). Dr. Marty Harris presented the Syllabus Template that the Graduate Council was preparing. Dr. Kincaid moved, seconded by Dr. Beason to approve the syllabus template to use for the undergraduate course template including the three required statements. Course Syllabus Template is now located on the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee website for use.
