2. Meeting called to order by Dr. Racheotes.
3. Dr. Brumm moved, seconded by Dr. Haque to approve minutes from previous meeting, October 11th, 2006. Motion passed
4. Dr. Garick moved, seconded by Dr. Green to approve Course Inventory Add/Reinstate: BE 400 – Foundations of Bilingual/ESL Education (Rincon). Passed with modification of pre-requisite BE 303 must be taken prior to or concurrently with BE 400 (Syllabus modifications received 11-08-06 by email). Motion passed.
5. Dr. Haque moved, seconded by Dr. Garick to approve Course Syllabus Changes: BE 474 – Biliteracy for Bilingual and Dual Language Classrooms. (Rincon). Passed with modification of pre-requisite BE 310 must be taken prior to or concurrently with BE 474 (Syllabus modifications received by email 11-8-06). Motion passed
6. Dr. Garick moved, seconded by Dr. Green to approve Course Syllabus Changes:
BE 472 – Bilingual and Dual Language Methodologies. (Rincon). Motion passed.
7. Dr. Haque moved, seconded by Dr. Garick to approve Course Inventory Add/Reinstate: BE 491 – Resident Teaching Bilingual/Spanish. (Rincon). Passed with modifications changing the grading system from letter grade to Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory. Motion passed.
8. Dr Garick moved, seconded by Dr. Haque to approve Course Syllabus Changes: CJ 420 – Administration and management of Criminal Justice Agencies. (Jordan). Motion Passed.
9. Dr. Garick moved, seconded by Dr. Green to approve Changes to TOEFL: Test of English as a Foreign Language. (Black). Motion passed.
10. Dr. Garick moved, seconded by Dr. Haque to approve Course Inventory Deletion: Comm 380 – Advanced Professional Communication. (Stripling). Degree Plans in CJ and Mass Communications need to be changed removing this course. Motion passed.
11. Dr. Haque moved, seconded by Dr. Garick to approve Course Inventory Change: IS 495 – Living in the 21st Century. (Ryan) Motion passed.
12. Dr. Garick moved, seconded by Dr. Haque to open discussion Course Inventory Add/Reinstate: IS 325 – American Culture: A Historical Perspective. (Mueller). Tabled. Dr. Haque moved, seconded by Dr. Garick to Table, Committee recommended that the Academic Dishonesty statement and consideration of rewording the justification stating the reason for the course rather than the methodology.
13. Dr. Haque moved, seconded by Dr. Brumm to approve Course Inventory Change: BSC 438 – Ichthyology. (McCallum) Motion passed.
14. Old Business: Dr Garick moved, seconded by Dr Haque to open discussions. Dr Haque moved, seconded by Dr Garick to approve – MGT 446: Entrepreneurship. (Brumm). Motion passed. (New syllabus passed out to members at Undergraduate Curriculum Meeting by Dr. Brumm, grading scale has been adjusted along with the inclusion of the Academic Dishonesty Statement).
15. Next meeting will be December13th, 2006, 2:00 – 4:00 PM, Room 375.
16. Other Business: Dr Racheotes struck an Ad Hoc Committee to look at the role and scope of the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee. Members are Drs. Brumm, Green and Racheotes.
