
Through the Preparing Educators for Tomorrow (PET) partnership between Hallsville ISD and Texas A&M University-Texarkana, students may complete the Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies (BSIS) degree leading to teacher certification for Early Childhood-6th Grade Generalist on the Hallsville High School campus.
Students who have completed all core and prerequisite courses through the community college or junior college of their choice can transfer to A&M-Texarkana to complete the final two years of coursework.
All A&M-Texarkana courses in the Early Childhood-6th grade Generalist program are held on the Hallsville High School campus. The courses are offered on a 2-year rotating schedule, with 12 semester hours offered each semester, including summers. Degree requirements may be viewed by clicking on the above link.
Students may complete their resident teaching requirements in one of our partner school districts, including Hallsville ISD, Harleton ISD, Kilgore ISD, Longview ISD, and White Oak ISD.
