Junior English Major
Texas A&M University-Texarkana first came to my attention thanks to a scholarship that my AVID counselor, and a recruiter named Roderick, help me receive. I had not toured through the campus, and I had no idea where the campus was either.
My mom told me that I had no choice but to take advantage of the scholarship and give college a try for a year. It is almost four years later, and I am such a healthier and brighter person than I was when I first came to A&M-Texarkana.
A&M-Texarkana gave me the chance to experience my first Zumba class, to become an executive council member of the Campus Activities Board, to have worked for offices such as financial aid, student life, and counseling services, and to find out just what kind of person I am and want to be.
I have had the pleasure of meeting MANY people from students to staff here. I have enjoyed every office where I have worked because the staff here are amazing and interesting people. This university is my second home with my second family, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
