Pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice

Coming from New Jersey, I figured that it would be hard to get acclimated to the Southern culture, especially considering that this is such a small school consisting of many students who attended high schools locally and already knew each other. That was not the case at all as I fit right into the Eagle family.

My first semester here at Texas A&M University - Texarkana I did not get involved in anything and that was a huge mistake! Then, I joined the intramural basketball team – which was an awesome decision.  After that, even though I hated baseball growing up, I joined a softball team and I loved it. During my second year, I got involved in the Residence Hall Association and was thrust into an Executive Board position - nothing like a little baptism by fire to get your feet wet! I also joined a fraternity, Phi Lambda Chi. I became Vice President, and I love the responsibility and accountability aspects. Now, I participate in all intramural sports with my brothers.

Currently, I am a criminal justice major. I do not have any specific career plans, but I figured if I do not have a burning career passion, I can always feed my passion for helping people. I easily see myself obtaining my degree here with the excellent help from my professors. I plan to graduate in May 2017, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.
