Junior Psychology Major
I am a junior majoring in Psychology with a minor in Interdisciplinary Studies. After finishing my degree my goal is to become a school counselor or a school psychologist. Giving birth to a daughter with a life-long disability that comes with learning disabilities has given me the passion to help all children like her. I’d love to be that person who these children can confide in and trust to help deal with their life challenges. My college career hasn’t been as smooth as it could’ve been, yet, Texas A&M University-Texarkana has changed my view on life itself and all that comes along with it.
Being a student at A&M-Texarkana has been the best experience yet. Everyone is welcoming, professors are really here to help, the feeling of “family” is admirable, and the progression is worth the journey. This school has helped me realize that my desire for helping others, especially children with life challenges, is more than what I want to do. The students and faculty are the best part because everyone is so encouraging. Choosing this school is by far one of the best decisions for a better future that I have ever made. There’s no greater feeling than to know that this will soon be my alma mater.
