Superintendent Certification Program Admissions

Admission Process

The cost of attendance at A&M-Texarkana are very affordable. Cost for superintendent courses is for two semesters, 6-hours each semester (12 SCH total). Refer to link for current-year tuition rates at “graduate two-year tuition & fee schedule”.  For Financial Aid information please click here.

Candidates must complete all steps prior to admission to the program and starting coursework. Steps include 1) application to university, 2) superintendent program application (Tk20), and 3) program application documents.  You will need to determine if you want to do the fully online program or Ratliff Academy program. Please contact graduate.studies@tamut.edu or call (903) 223-3129 if you have questions regarding the admissions process.

  1. University Application: Go to this link to apply. Create account as instructed. Complete application as a “Graduate” student. On “Program Choice” page, select either “EDD in Education Leadership” or scroll down to “Non degree”. Select term you plan to start coursework and select “superintendent” concentration. There is a $30 application fee.
  2. Superintendent Program Application: At the same time that you apply to graduate studies, please apply to the certification program per Texas Education Agency requirement through Tk20 link. Scroll to bottom and click on “admissions”. Create account and complete “superintendent” application. There is no charge to complete the application. However, please note, when you submit this application, a non-refundable $35 application fee will be added to your student account.
  3. Application Documents:
    • Have official transcripts sent to admissions office. Do this early as delayed transcripts slow down the admissions process.
    • Schedule zoom interview with program coordinator.
    • Official TOEFL scores taken within the last two years (international students only)
    • For Fully Online Program, requires letter of support from your district superintendent. Download correct letter (Texas district or Out-of-State district) and print letter for superintendent signature. Signed letter may be sent as attachment to graduate.studies@tamut.edu.
