History Internships

The History internship gives students the opportunity for hands-on experience in a variety of historically-related locations. We have agreements currently with the Texarkana Museums System, Historic Washington State Park, and the Southwest Arkansas Regional Archives (and we are always adding more partners!). Students are able to work closely with their faculty mentor and site manager to develop an internship plan that fits their interests and the needs of the partner institution. 

We have had students gain experience in historic object conservation, researching and developing displays for museums, leading tours and working with the public, archival management and use, or a combination of any/all of these areas.
