Supplemental Grant Aid is federal grant money for eligible TRIO SSS participants. TRIO SSS participants can apply during the Fall and Spring semester by completing the supplemental grant aid application. Grant amounts depend on need and fund availability. Freshmen and Sophomore participants will receive funding priority. Qualifications can be found below:
Qualifications:
- Student must be a Pell Grant recipient for the current semester/session (i.e., the semester of application).
- Student must be enrolled full-time.
- Student must meet minimum unmet need exceeding $692 as determined by the Financial Aid Office.
- Student must be a freshman or sophomore while active in the SSS program. Juniors and seniors are eligible on a limited basis, i.e., until TRIO SSS Grant Aid has fulfilled freshmen and sophomore participants’ unmet need.
- Student must be a full-time, active participant in the A&M-Texarkana TRIO SSS Project, as evidenced by a minimum of two meetings with the Director, Coordinator, or Administrative Associate and TRIO SSS Orientation, 2022-2023 TRIO SSS Handbook Acknowledgment Form, and Financial Literacy Workshop or assigned virtual Financial Literacy lesson, at the time of application.
- Student must have a 2.8 institutional G.P.A.
- Student must submit a brief (3-5 sentences) statement including the reason(s) for requesting grant aid within the box on page 4.
