Common Reading Experience

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to share reading and learning experiences with your classmates and faculty. This experience allows you to bond with each other as a community of learners. Not only will you share a reading experience, you will come together as a campus community to participate in conversations and activities on campus and beyond associated with our annual academic theme. This year’s theme is "Social Responsibility."

We will be spending the upcoming year discussing, engaging, and probing what "Social Responsibility" might actually mean.

The Common Reader committee, consisting of faculty, staff, and students have put together a curated collection of articles and chapters helping us define this topic. During the semester, you'll participate in discussions with your classmates and faculty, and you'll have the opportunity to attend special events related to the readings sponsored by both First- Year Experience and the Program for Learning and Community Engagement (PLACE).
