Registration Ready?

Let us help you get REGISTRATION READY!

Complete these checklist items to ensure you’re ready to register for classes at SOAR:

How to Satisfy College Readiness Requirements (Meet TSI Requirements)
All new students must satisfy the TSI College Readiness Requirements for Reading, Writing, and Math. We encourage completing testing requirements before arriving at SOAR to ensure a fun and seamless registration process.

Here are some ways to satisfy this requirement. Please email any documentation from below to dualcredit@tamut.edu.

  • You’ve completed college-level English and Math courses with a letter grade of “C” or better.
  • Your ACT composite score is at least 23, with a 19 on the English portion to exempt you from Reading and Writing and/or a 19 on the Math portion to exempt you from math.
  • Your SAT is a minimum score of 480 on the Evidenced-Based Reading and Writing test to exempt you from both the reading and writing portions. A minimum score of 530 on the Math test exempts you from the Math portion.
  • Your score for the STARR End-of-Course is a minimum Level 2 score of 4000 on English III to exempt you from reading and writing and a minimum Level 2 score of 4000 on Algebra II to exempt you from the mathematics portion.
  • You have graduated with an associate or baccalaureate degree from an institution of higher education.
  • You are a veteran of the United States Armed Forces.
  • You have taken the TSI Assessment in all areas and have scores for placement.

Study and complete the ALEKS exam if required by your major. You will need to complete ALEKS if you have selected one of the following majors: Chemistry, Chemistry Education, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, Math Education, or Mechanical Engineering. (Note: Satisfy TSI before proceeding with the ALEKS placement exam.)

Submit your final high school transcript to the Office of Admissions. The fastest and simplest way for us to get your transcript is for your high school counselor to email it to admissions@tamut.edu, which must come directly from your counselor’s email.

Submit any college transcript to show completed dual credit coursework earned during high school to the Office of Admissions. Email an unofficial copy of your dual credit college transcript to dualcredit@tamut.edu

Submit all AP test scores if you completed AP classes in High School.

Verify your major is correct with your academic advisor. To find your academic advisor, click here.
