Texas A&M University-Texarkana Celebrates The Investiture of Dr. Emily Cutrer
Texas A&M University-Texarkana will celebrate the investiture of Dr. Emily Cutrer on Monday, September 23, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Perot Theatre in downtown Texarkana. The celebration will start on Saturday for the Texas A&M-Texarkana Day of Service, where students, faculty, staff, and members of the Texarkana community will gather at Bringle Lake Park, next to the campus, for a day of maintenance, clean-up, and landscaping. And in continuing with the festivities, there will be a reception at the Regional Arts Center, within walking distance of the Perot Theatre, after the investiture ceremony on Monday.
A native Texan, Dr. Cutrer has served as Dean of the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences, Associate Professor and Professor of American Studies at Arizona State University West, and Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at California State University San Marcos. She is an accomplished university administrator, as well as academic, and was an incomparable choice for President of Texas A&M University-Texarkana. She was appointed by The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents in January 2013.
