A&M-Texarkana Campus Is Going Green!
Published: January 6, 2014
The A&M-Texarkana is implementing a campus-wide recycling program. Recycling bins will be arriving soon and will be positioned at the various buildings on campus. Items that will be collected include aluminum cans, various plastics, including plastic bottles, magazines, newspapers and office paper. The university began a cardboard recycling program last year.
The Student Government Association was instrumental in setting up the new recycling program. The program is being funded by a $5 student fee, known as a “Green Fee” that was implemented during the spring 2013 semester. Items that are recycled can be used to produce new products, resulting in more space in the local landfill.
