The Young Professionals organization at Texas A&M University-Texarkana was established in March 2011. The organization’s mission is to be a member driven organization working to support and promote A&M-Texarkana by hosting events and raising funds to be invested back into the university, which include Eagle Athletics and Student Life.
The organization has grown to over 70 members since its inception three years ago. Current officers of the organization are: President – Collins Bruner; President-Elect, Chris McCulloch; Josh Permenter, Treasurer; Lacy McCulloch, Secretary. President Bruner is excited to lead this vibrant group of young professionals in the community and is pleased with a recent fund raising effort. “Young Professionals at A&M-Texarkana raised $6,600 recently during our 3rd Annual Derby Party,” said Bruner. “With the proceeds, we are in a strong position to start making a difference in the lives of A&M- Texarkana students and at the same time giving back to the community. With our focus on younger Texarkanians, supporting the athletic programs was a natural fit for us.”
Proceeds from the recent fundraiser will be used to fund $2800 for tennis uniforms, $2800 for a weather shelter to be located at the soccer field to be built on campus and $1000 for athletic scholarships. To learn more about Young Professionals, please contact Summer Nelson at 903 223-3057.
