Texas A&M University-Texarkana Wins National Event of the Year Award at APCA Conference

Last week, some of A&M-Texarkana’s Campus Activities Board (CAB) officers attended the Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities (APCA) National Programming Conference in Jacksonville, FL.  Last semester, their CAB was awarded with the South Central Region Event of the Year for “De-Stress for Finals Day 2014” and student Amber Spence won South Central Region Student Programmer of the Year Award. The winner for each category in each of the five regions becomes eligible for the National Award. 

Texas A&M University-Texarkana is the winner of the National Event of the Year Award for “De-Stress for Finals 2014”.  The university also won this award on the national level two years ago, which illustrates that the students on the programming board are consistently performing as leaders in campus programming on a national level.

In addition to the national awards, APCA also provides a graphics competition where programming boards may submit posters and other materials used to advertise their programs.  TAMUT Campus Activities Board had only one entry into the contest—the 2015 Spring Fling Poster.  This poster also received first place at the National Programming Conference graphics competition.
