“Campus Carry” Law is Focus of Town Hall Meetings
Texas A&M University-Texarkana will host a series of town hall meetings this week to discuss implementation of the “campus carry” law, which will go into effect on Aug. 16, 2016.
The purpose of the meetings is to hear student, faculty and staff concerns and to help shape the rule for “campus carry” at the university.
Senate Bill 11 requires the university to obtain information specifically about (1) the nature of the student population, (2) specific safety considerations and (3) the uniqueness of the campus environment. Attendance is encouraged.

Tuesday, Oct. 13, 3-4 p.m. in University Center 217
Wednesday, Oct. 14, 4-5 p.m. in University Center 217
Wednesday, Oct. 14, 7:30-8:30 p.m. in Eagle Hall
Faculty and Staff
Wednesday, Oct. 14, 12-1 p.m. in University Center 210 – Bring a brown-bag lunch.
Friday, Oct. 16 from 4-5 p.m. in University Center 217
