iServe Week is Underway, Culminates with Garden Project

The Fall 2015 iServe Week of community service at Texas A&M University-Texarkana is underway through Oct. 24

Students are encouraged to register online to participate in one of many community-service activities available in the Texarkana area.

Community-service opportunities include painting and cosmetic touch-ups at the United Way of Greater Texarkana, tree planting for the City of Texarkana, Texas, and volunteering at the “Taste of Texarkana” event sponsored by Harvest Texarkana.

Opportunities also include volunteering at the Salvation Army, assisting the City of Texarkana, Texas, with the Fall Festival at Spring Lake Park and assisting with therapeutic horse riding at Runnin’ WJ Ranch.

On Saturday, Oct. 24, students, faculty and staff will join with the city to build a community garden in the Beverly area of Texarkana.

Every volunteer will receive an iServe T-shirt.

For more information, contact Keith Beason, student orientation and activities specialist, at Keith.Beason@tamut.edu.
