K-Love Harris to Speak on Campus Feb. 17
Nationally acclaimed spoken-word artist Kendria "K-Love" Harris of Chicago, Illinois, will speak at Texas A&M University-Texarkana Wednesday, Feb. 17, at 7 p.m. in Eagle Hall of the University Center, 7101 University Ave., Texarkana, Texas.
Harris has shared the stage with many HBO Def Poets, including M'Reld Green, Black Ice and Georgia Me. And she is known throughout Chicago as the mother of the SouthSide.
In 2008, she co-founded L.Y.R.I.C. (Let Your Rhymes Inspire Creativity), a high-school workshop that taught empowerment through poetry, music, song and dance, with hip-hop artist, Phenom.
Harris' appearance is sponsored by the A&M-Texarkana Campus Activities Board. The event is open to the public. Free coffee and dessert will be served.
