Published: March 31, 2016

Congratulations to the Texas A&M University-Texarkana Eagles Fishing Club on placing 14th overall in Cabela's Collegiate Bass Fishing Open March 24-26 in Russellville, Arkansas.

The Eagles competed against 193 boats from 96 universities from across the nation and weighed in a little over 20 pounds of bass.

"It was a long week and tough fishing conditions," said Fishing Club President Justin Snow.

With a top 20 finish, the team has qualified for its first-ever BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Cabela's in May.

The team hopes to qualify for the Fishing League Worldwide national championship at its final college tournament of the season in April at Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma.

Members of the Fishing Club include Justin Snow, president; Josh Cole, vice president, Matt Fomby, Son Lam, Micheal Moore, Anthony Sciara and Zach Marsh.

Advisers are Dr. Tom Jordan and Robert Hernandez.
