iServe Week of Community Service to Begin March 26
The Spring 2016 iServe Week of community service at Texas A&M University-Texarkana is set for March 26 to April 2.
Students are encouraged to register online to participate in one of many community-service activities available in the Texarkana area.
Community-service opportunities are as follows:
Saturday, March 26
9 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Fire safety awareness and smoke-alarm distribution, American Red Cross
1-5 p.m. – Habitat for Humanity
Monday, March 28
9 a.m.-12 p.m. – Bringle Lake Park East wilderness trail signs and clean up
1-4 p.m. – Bringle Lake Park East wilderness trail signs and clean up
Tuesday, March 29
9-11 a.m. – Salvation Army
1-4 p.m. – Salvation Army
Wednesday, March 30
9 a.m.-12 p.m. – Animal Care and Adoption Center
6-8 p.m. – Cornerstone Retirement Community Movie Night
Thursday, March 31
9 a.m.-5 p.m. – Building a community garden
Friday, April 1
10 a.m.-2 p.m. – Runnin’ WJ Ranch therapeutic horse riding
On Friday and Saturday, April 1-2, iServe students will host a canned food drive at the A&M-Texarkana Eagles baseball game at 7 p.m.
Every volunteer will receive an iServe T-shirt.
