Texas A&M University-Texarkana recently participated in the spring 2016 Study Texas trip to Monterrey, Mexico.
Study Texas is a group of educational organizations in the state of Texas, whose broad purpose is to connect international students and professionals with a quality education.
A&M-Texarkana graduate student Edwin Lara of Dallas, Texas, who is pursuing a Master of Business Administration, and Jennifer Felps, global recruitment specialist, represented A&M-Texarkana during the Study Texas trip. Eleven schools from the state of Texas were in attendance.
Representatives from the schools visited Tec de Monterrey, which is one of the top-ranked universities in the world, where they heard presentations from the university’s internationalization and study abroad offices.
They also visited two local high schools and participated in the Education USA fair with 25 other American colleges and universities.
“It was a great experience for A&M-Texarkana to be represented in Monterrey along with other higher education institutes from across the state of Texas,” Felps said.
“As we expand our institution’s internationalization efforts, it is beneficial to belong to a consortium of Texas schools to learn from and build best practices. Many of the students and school representatives we encountered were impressed with our enthusiasm for global engagement and our pristine and scenic campus.”
