The Tau Chapter of Phi Lambda Chi at Texas A&M University-Texarkana received recognition as top chapter in the nation at the recent 2016 Phi Lambda Chi National Fraternity Conference in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Heath Coston of Texarkana, Texas, a 2016 A&M-Texarkana graduate, received the 2015-16 Man of the Year award from the national organization. Alex Claiborne of Marshall, Texas, was named Secretary of the Year. Jamauryon Pree of Texarkana, Texas, was named Treasurer of the Year.

The A&M-Texarkana chapter won the Chapter Excellence Award for participation and student leadership on campus, which is the highest honor bestowed upon a chapter.

“As such a young chapter on a campus where Greek life is still relatively new, I cannot express how proud I am of the men in the Tau Chapter of Phi Lambda Chi Fraternity,” said Director of Student Life Celeste McNiel.  “These guys started this organization with a mission and a vision of what a fraternity should be like, and they have stayed that course the whole way.  Their commitment to brotherhood, scholarship and service is a testament to the types of students we have on our campus and to the types of leaders our campus community is developing.”

The Tau Chapter at A&M-Texarkana is only three years old, having been chartered in 2013.
