A&M-Texarkana to Offer Online ACT/SAT Preparation Course

Published: January 2, 2017

Texas A&M University-Texarkana, in conjunction with The Center for Legal Studies, will offer a seven-week online ACT/SAT preparation course, beginning Jan. 9.

Almost all undergraduate colleges and universities require that prospective students take either the ACT or the SAT and most students take both.

This course will prepare individuals for all question types found on both the ACT and SAT using test-taking techniques taught to thousands of college-bound students around the world.

ACT topics include effective word usage, grammar and reading comprehension for the verbal sections; techniques for the science reasoning section; and basic and advanced math concepts, including fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios and proportions, and algebraic and geometric concepts for the math section.

SAT topics include command of evidence, words in context, information and ideas, rhetoric and synthesis questions for the reading section; expression of ideas, grammar and Standard English conventions for the writing section; essay writing for the optional essay; and basic and advanced math concepts, including fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, and proportions, and algebraic, geometric and trigonometric concepts for the math sections.

Course requirements include Internet access, e-mail and a Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome web browser.

Course tuition is $250 plus required text.
