A&M-Texarkana EECD and Center for Legal Studies Courses Begin May 1
Texas A&M University-Texarkana is offering the following online courses and programs through the Office of Extended Education and Community Development and The Center for Legal Studies, beginning May 1.
Students receive a certificate from A&M-Texarkana upon completion of the courses.
Advanced Legal Research and Writing—This course runs from May 1-June 16 and is designed to teach advanced and specialized approaches to using the legal resources available in a law library and elsewhere. The cost is $729.
Alternative Dispute Resolution Certificate Course—This course runs from May 1-June 16 and is designed to train and qualify students to develop or participate in conflict mediation processes. The cost is $645.
Intellectual Property Law for Engineers—The course runs from May 1-June 16 and deals with patent applications, research and prosecution, the law of infringement, and computer applications of software protected by copyright and hardware by patents. The cost is $645.
Legal Investigation Certificate Course—This course runs from May 1-June 16 and is designed to teach legal investigation to those interested in pursuing a new career and those presently working in the legal field. The cost is $645.
Legal Nurse Consultant Training Course—This course runs from May 1-June 16 and prepares medical professionals for careers in the legal field as legal nurse consultants. The cost is $895.
Legal Secretary Certificate Course—This program runs from May 1-June 16 and is designed for both beginning and experienced secretaries who are interested in improving their skills and working more efficiently within the law office. The cost is $645.
Paralegal Certificate Course —This program begins May 1 and runs 14 weeks. It is designed to prepare students for careers in paralegal technology. The cost is $1,289.
Personal Injury for Paralegals—This course runs from May 1-June 16. Students learn many of the legal terms, causes of action and remedies available to victims of personal injury accidents. The cost is $729.
Preparing for the ACT—This program runs from May 1-June 16 and is designed to prepare students to take the ACT assessment. The cost is $150.
Preparing for the GMAT—This program runs from May 1-June 16 is designed to prepare students to take the Graduate Management Admission Test. The cost is $300.
Preparing for the GRE—This program runs from May 1-June 16 and is designed to prepare students to take the analytical writing and verbal section and quantitative section of the GRE revised General Test. The cost is $300.
Preparing for the LSAT— This program runs from May 1-June 16 and prepares students to take the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT). The cost is $300.
Preparing for the SAT— This program runs from May 1-June 16 and is designed to prepare students to take the SAT assessment. The cost is $150.
SAT/ACT—This program runs from May 1-June 16 and prepares students to take both the SAT and ACT. The cost is $250.
Software Essentials for the Law Office—This course runs from May 1-June 16 and is designed for legal professionals interested in improving their skills and knowledge of commonly used computer technology and programs within the law office. The cost is $729.
Victim Advocacy Certificate Course—This course runs from May 1-June 16 and prepares participants to work in victim advocacy arenas, such as domestic violence shelters, crisis centers, crisis hotlines, and with state and county governments to assist crime victims in progressing through the criminal justice system and toward successful recovery. The cost is $645.
