A&M-Texarkana Eagles Soccer Sets Opening Weekend
Texas A&M University-Texarkana Eagles soccer will open the 2017 season when the women’s team takes on NCAA Division I Grambling State University Tigers Friday, Aug. 25, in an 11 a.m. match at Eagle Field on the A&M-Texarkana campus.
Later that day, A&M-Texarkana women and men’s teams will face Bethel University at 5 and 7 p.m. respectively in the second annual Border Cup tournament.
On Saturday, Aug. 26, Wiley College will take on Bethel University, with the women playing at 1 p.m. and the men at 3 p.m.
The A&M-Texarkana women’s team will face off against Bacone College on Saturday at 5 p.m. and the men will round out the Border Cup tourney with a match against Bacone at 7 p.m.
“This is an exciting opening weekend for the Eagles with a D1 match-up for the women’s team and the annual Border Cup event,” said Michael Galvan, A&M-Texarkana’s director of athletics. “We invite the entire Texarkana community to come out to Eagle Field for some great soccer action.”
Admission to Eagles soccer matches is free and open to the public.
