A&M-Texarkana to Welcome Proyecta 100,000 Students

Published: October 19, 2017

Texas A&M University-Texarkana has been selected by the Mexican government for a third time to take part in the Proyecta 100,000 initiative and will host 15 students from Mexico Oct. 22 to Nov. 18 for a four-week intensive English program.

Upon arriving in Texarkana next week, the group of students will hit the ground running, studying English during the day and then engaging in various excursions and cultural activities such as sports events, outdoor activities and interacting with local residents.

Host families include members of the A&M-Texarkana faculty and staff.

One goal of Proyecta 100,000 is to increase student mobility between the two countries, with the aim of sending 100,000 Mexican students to the U.S. and 50,000 American students to Mexico by the year 2018.

A graduation ceremony for the students will close out International Education Week on Friday, Nov. 17. The entire campus community is invited.
