PLACE to Host Lecture on Toxic Masculinity
Texas A&M University and the Program for Learning And Community Engagement will host a lecture about Toxic Masculinity on Thursday, April 4th. The event is free and open to the public, and will take place from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. in University Center room 210.
The event will feature two guest speakers, Dr. Angelique Jenney and Dr. Deinera Exner-Cortens, both from the University of Calgary. The topic of the lecture is “On Toxic Masculinity and the Netflix Teen Drama Series “13 Reasons Why.”
PLACE is a faculty-led program designed to create a community of learners comprised of A&M-Texarkana students, faculty, staff and the community at large. PLACE chooses an annual theme around which to organize a lecture series and other activities that provide focal points for learning and discussion. This year’s theme is “Gender Issues.”
