TEXARKANA, Texas – Texas A&M University-Texarkana has awarded senior Sabrina Melton the Scott Bruner Award for Visionary Student Leadership. Melton is an accounting major from Idabel, Oklahoma. The award provides recognition for those hardworking individuals who strive to make A&M-Texarkana a better place for students to live, learn, and grow.
Based solely on leadership and service to the University, this distinguished award is given to a student who exhibits ethical, creative leadership and promotes a positive campus climate while remaining in good academic standing. Sabrina is entering her third year as a Resident Advisor in the Bringle Lake Village residence hall, has been a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha and the accounting club, is a current/founding member of the university Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and has been a TAMUT Student Ambassador for three years. “Sabrina has played a very active role on the TAMUT campus from the moment she arrived,” said A&M-Texarkana President Emily Cutrer. “She is involved in a number of campus organizations and activities and takes a great deal of pride in helping to make TAMUT a better place for our students. She is a difference maker, and I look forward to watching her continued success in the years to come,” Cutrer added.
