Emily - Nursing 2019 / Cody - Nursing 2020
Meet nursing students Cody and Emily (Peck) Craddock. Their journey into dual nursing degrees and nursing careers actually began at Texas A&M University in college station where they met and began dating. Cody, originally from Highland Village, Texas was studying chemistry while Emily, who grew up in Forney, Texas was working on a degree in sociology. They both graduated from Texas A&M University in May 2016.
Emily knew she wanted to go into nursing, but Cody hadn’t decided on his path when they moved to Texarkana so she could begin the nursing program at TAMUT. Shortly thereafter, he signed up as well and they are now both nursing graduates from the A&M-Texarkana program. “A&M Texarkana was great for us,” Cody said. “The resources are phenomenal, and the class sizes are small. It also helps that you have so much access to your professors.” “The connection to the A&M System was important to us,” added Emily. “We knew it was academically strong, and enjoyed the close knit community feel of campus.”
Emily graduated from TAMUT in the spring of 2019. They were married in June 2019 and Cody graduated one year later. She is currently employed in the emergency room at Christus St. Michael in Texarkana. Cody has accepted a position in the ER there as well, and is awaiting his official NCLEX scores. He will begin working there any day.
