Jaci Roberts Berry
CBET - Masters of Business Administration
When Jaci (Roberts) Berry graduated from Liberty Eylau High School in 2014 and enrolled at Texas A&M University Texarkana she had a plan. In fact, in October of her first year at the university she was the subject of an article featuring her as one of A&M-Texarkana’s “Standout Students.” The goals she listed for her immediate future were to earn her bachelor’s degree in accounting (check) and a Master of Business Administration (check) before applying to and attending law school (check).
As the LEHS Class of 2014 Valedictorian, Jaci had a lot of options when deciding where she would attend college and was accepted at 12 universities before choosing A&M-Texarkana. A recipient of the Texas A&M University-Texarkana Presidential Scholarship, she decided to take advantage of the fact that she could receive a world-class education while continuing to live at home, which allowed her to start saving for law school.
Jaci entered the university with 30 semester hours of dual credit classes from high school, and graduated Suma Cum Laude with her bachelor’s degree in 2016. This allowed her to complete her MBA in 2017 while she was only 21 years old. While at A&M-Texarkana she participated in the Student Ambassador program, which takes highly motivated students and involves them in numerous ways representing the university both on and off campus.
One of the main reasons she chose Texas A&M University-Texarkana was due to its small class sizes, which she says prepared her well for law school. “Because the class sizes were small, I received more of a one-on-one experience. You’re not just a number here,” Berry said. “I really enjoyed the faculty. They were always available and willing to go the extra mile if I needed help,” she added. “They really took an interest in and supported what I wanted to do.”
She enrolled at the William H. Bowen School of Law at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2019 and graduated in December of 2021. “I’ve always known I wanted to be a lawyer,” Berry commented. “I got into law because I wanted to help people.” Jaci is employed as an Associate Attorney at Law with Norton & Wood L.L.P., where she works in civil law in the areas of estate, business, tax law and litigation services. “I use my accounting degree to help people plan for the future,” said Berry. “I help them prepare their assets, which helps protect themselves and their families from having to make difficult decisions later in life.
Jaci is married to Daniel Berry, also a Liberty Eylau graduate with multiple degrees from Texas A&M University-Texarkana. Daniel earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in management at A&M-Texarkana and is the head mechanic at Classic Kia. The couple has been together for 9 years.
Asked if they would stay in Texarkana or eventually look to relocate, her response was instantaneous. “This is home. We’ll stay and put roots down here,” she said. “It’s important to me to use my career to help so many of the people who have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve just always wanted to help people, and I want to do it here.”
