Recommendations for an Optimal Viewing Experience

When it comes to viewing any “live streaming” event, it’s all about the bandwidth.   It is recommended that you “test” the device you plan on viewing your event on prior to the start of the event.   Here are some recommended bandwidth guidelines for viewing a streaming video:

  • 1 Mbps for viewing standard definition events on a laptop computer
  • 3 Mbps for viewing high definition events on a laptop computer
  • 2 Mbps for SD video on a TV
  • 4 Mbps for 720p HD video
  • 5 Mbps for “the best video and audio experience”.

Additional information:

Video:  If you're on a desktop or laptop computer, we suggest using the latest version of Chrome or Firefox. If you're using an alternate browser, please ensure you're using the most updated version of that browser. To access audio or video content, you will also need Flash 14 or later, which requires Max OS X 10.6 or later, or Windows XP or later.  Our broadcasts are also compatible on any Apple mobile devices running iOS 7 or later and on Android devices running OS 4.4.4 or later. If you're wishing to view the broadcasts on your TV, we suggest using AppleTV to wirelessly stream content from a Mac or Apple mobile device or connecting an HDMI cable from your computer or device to your TV. While some Smart TVs can also be used to access our streams, we cannot guarantee compatibility.

Audio:  While viewing a live streaming event, the volume is controlled both using the “portal” volume control as well as the device volume control.  If you can’t hear the event audio, please check to insure that both volume controls are elevated and/or not muted.
