A&M-Texarkana to Host Bowie County Master Gardeners on August 14th.
TEXARKANA, Texas – Texas A&M University-Texarkana and the Bowie County Master gardeners will host the program “Fall Garden Options” on Monday, August 14, 2023, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The class is free and open to the public. The event will take place in the University Center building, Room 326. Reservations are not required.
The program will be presented by James Lamb, a Research Field Technician for the University of Arkansas Southwest Research Extension Center in Hope, Arkansas. Mr. Lamb is also an Arkansas Master Gardener.
Fall is just around the corner but that doesn't mean it's time to pack away your gardening gloves. While the crisp fall weather may make it trickier to grow crops, there are still many vegetables that you can plant. The fall planting season typically starts in September, but October is still a great time to get your fall garden started. With a little protection from occasional frosts, you'll be able to reap a harvest through the winter.
A question-and-answer period will follow the August 14th presentation.
