Starting term - Summer/Spring:

Prior to the start of the term, New Students should receive communication with key information on how to access important systems, log in to your classes through Canvas, where to find important information about the University, how to schedule a meeting with tutors and advisors, and more.

Join us for SOAR: Admitted Students Day at Texas A&M University-Texarkana! This is an exciting opportunity for new students to dive into their college journey! This special event is designed to give you a feel for the vibrant TAMUT community, allowing you to connect with your future classmates, faculty, and staff.

Here's what you can expect:

• Immerse Yourself in the TAMUT Community: Experience the unique spirit and camaraderie of our campus. Get a feel for what it means to be a part of our close-knit community, and start forging lasting connections with your fellow students, faculty, and staff.
• Learn about special programs and traditions: Breakout sessions on the history of the university, different ways to get involved, important tips and tricks for new students to know, and more allow you to tailor your SOAR experience to the information YOU want to know!
• Modify or Set Your Schedule: Have questions or need adjustments to your class schedule? Our academic advisors will be on hand to help you fine-tune your course selections to ensure a smooth start to your academic journey.
• Visit with Financial Aid: Our financial aid team will be available to assist you with grants, scholarships, and loan options.
• Set Up a Payment Plan: Our financial aid and business office teams will be available to assist you in setting up a payment plan that suits your needs. Get all your financial questions answered and ensure your finances are in order for the upcoming semester.
• Take Care of Business: From submitting final documents to checking off any last-minute administrative tasks, this is your chance to tie up any loose ends before the semester begins.
• Engage in Curricular and Non-Curricular Activities: Explore the range of academic and extracurricular opportunities at A&M-Texarkana. Participate in interactive workshops, join student organizations, and discover how you can get involved on campus.
• Meet with Faculty: Connect with the dedicated faculty members from your chosen program. Learn more about your academic path, discuss your interests, and get insights into your future studies.
• TSI Testing (if needed): For those who need to take the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) assessment, testing will be available on-site. Ensure you're ready for college-level coursework by completing this important step.
