A&M-Texarkana Announces New Educational Partnership with Mayo Manufacturing

TEXARKANA, Texas – Texas A&M University-Texarkana and Mayo Manufacturing have entered a new academic partnership that will allow Mayo Manufacturing employees to take courses at the university at a discounted rate. The signing of a memorandum of understanding formally established the partnership on January 17^th at a ceremony on the Texas A&M University-Texarkana campus.

“We look forward to our partnership with A&M-Texarkana”, said Mayo Manufacturing Human Resources Manager Yuliana McGee. “This will allow our employees to get the benefit of higher education at a discounted rate. We believe it’s important for people to pursue an education, because an educated workforce is a stronger workforce,” McGee added.

"We are thankful to forge this partnership with Mayo Manufacturing," said A&M-Texarkana President Dr. Ross Alexander. “We strive to be an educational solutions provider for all our corporate partners, including Mayo Manufacturing, whom I commend for investing in their human capital through this agreement." 

Under the terms of the agreement all full-time employees of Mayo Manufacturing will receive a 25% tuition discount on all undergraduate, graduate, certificate, or micro-credential programs delivered in-person, online, or through a hybrid format. The university has also waived the application fee. In addition to the tuition discount, any eligible employee who is a new student at the university will receive the First Flight Scholarship, which gives the new student their first class free if they are enrolled in at least 6 hours of undergraduate or graduate courses.

Employees wishing to take advantage of the new partnership must meet the admissions standards of the program to which they apply and must remain in good academic standing.
