Texarkana native Jenni Hedrick has always wanted to be a nurse. Her great grandmother was a nurse, and growing up Jenni was able to see and understand the impact her great grandmother had on patients in the community. She received support and encouragement from other family members as well and went to college to become a labor and delivery nurse.

Alumni Feature - Chris Black
In 2010 (at the age of 42) Black decided it was time to finish his education. “Education has always been important to me,” he said. “I wanted to finish my degree for myself, but also for my children. I wanted them to know that their father had gone to college and completed his degree.”

Alumni Feature - Amber Adams
“I really enjoyed being in a program where I was with others who were not traditional college-aged students. Being around other students who were also working and completing their education like me was a unique and positive experience. Not only do you learn from your classes, you learn from the life experiences of your classmates.
