Alert! Study Abroad in Ireland is back on for Summer I – 2027.

In June of 2027, Texas A&M University-Texarkana students will travel to Ireland to study the literature and the culture that influenced that literature, staying in the city of Cork on the University College Cork (UCC) campus. Course offerings include English 2331-World Literature, with an emphasis on Irish culture and literature, and English 497/597: Special Topics: The Irish Novel. Dates: Summer I 2027:
June 1: Irish Abroad in person orientation
June 2: Classes begin
June 8: Depart DFW to Dublin; bus to Cork
June 9-22: Explore Ireland and the Irish culture
June 23: Depart Ireland for DFW
June 24-July 2: Complete course work for Summer I classes.
Locations: Cork, Ireland
The trip includes multiple activities and sites in Cork and beyond, including:
- Gougane Barra
- Cahir Castle
- Cobh and the Titanic Museum
- Thoor Ballylee (WB Yeats’ tower)
- Kilkenney Castle
- St. Canice’s Cathedral
- and other locations
Accommodations: UCC Summer Housing
Cost: $3235
The program cost includes accommodation in UCC Summer Housing, insurance, entry fees and transportation to required events and trips, AIFS-led orientation and tours, welcome and farewell dinners.
The program cost does not include tuition, transportation to and from Ireland, meals, and other personal travel or activities.
Transportation: Individually planned and purchased flights to Dublin and back. Group bus to and from Cork.
