Incorporating Accessibility
How to Incorporate EIR Accessibility
Incorporating EIR accessibility may seem like a daunting or overwhelming task; however, there are tools and resources available to help as you go about creating accessible content. Microsoft, Adobe, and Foxit have built-in accessibility checkers which not only check for accessibility; they offer suggestions for correction. Similarly, Blackboard Ally will assess accessibility and provide correction advice for instructors using Blackboard for course delivery. The Section 508 and CAST: Center for Applied Special Technology websites are excellent resources - each of these sites provides a wealth of information. If you begin by creating accessible resources now, then reviewing existing documents one or two at a time, accessibility will become part of your everyday routine.
